30 Things To Do - 2007 Year In Review

Back in May of 2007 I made a "30 Things To Do Before I Turn 30" list after reading a Nerissa Pacio article in the San Jose Mercury News. A month later in June I created this site to share with all of you my progress as I accomplish each thing on my list. With 2007 coming to an end I figured this would be a good time to summarize what I've been able to do so far, and thank the people who've helped me out along the way.

#24 - Start my website. Any monkey can start a website. The difficulty lies in making the site presentable. Thanks to Famdango for her tiny contributions. I still need more help doing various things on this site so hopefully you'll be seeing more of her work in the near future.

#3 - Start my retirement fund. Wuzer does it all. He's strong enough to carry you out of a doughnut shop after you've dirtied it in the worst way possible. And he's smart enough to dispense sound financial advice even after a pitcher of hef.

#9 - Get a new car. After a few months and over 10k miles I still love her. She's great. Now who would be crazy enough to help me out with that? Duh!

#17 - Learn to dance. I've been told I dance like a monkey. In fact I still do. But at least I have fun doing it. Thanks to PeeCue and High Def for introducing me to my newest obsession.

#18 - Read for pleasure. This one is still a work in progress but I'll pretend as though it's done. Thanks to the Man for introducing me to the majority of the books that I'll be reading in the near future. Isa ejumahkaytid!

About 5 things are done with about 25 more to go. Again, thanks to all the people that have helped me out because without them none of this would have been possible. Let's end 2007 with a bang and start 2008 with a hangover. It's a celebration bitches. Enjoy yo-self.

Armin Van Buuren - A State of Trance #331, Top 20 of 2007

The end of the year brings many Top X of 2007 lists. My favorite list is probably Armin Van Burren's top 20 songs of the year. I know none of you listen to this type of music but I figure I'd post about it anyways. You can download the entire 2-hour mix and tracklisting here.

Here are my personal favorites from this list.

19. Cosmic Gate feat. Denise Rivera - Body Of Conflict (Vocal Mix)

15. DJ Shah feat. Adrina Thorpe - Who Will Find Me? (Original Summer Sunrise Mix)

13. Ilse DeLange - The Great Escape (Armin van Buuren Remix)

09. Paul van Dyk & Starkillers & Austin Leeds feat. Ashley Tomberlin - New York City

05. The Blizzard - Kalopsia (Original Club Mix)

02. Armin van Buuren vs. Rank 1 feat. Kush - This World Is Watching Me (Cosmic Gate Remix)

One item on my "30 Things To Do" list involves this genre of music so I guess that gives you an idea of how much I dig this stuff. If any of you find any of these 5 songs remotely catchy then it would make my day. Reeeeespect.

Fun Times @ VIP pt 2

Part 1

Last week Su came in from Texas to hang out. That was a lot of fun. One night was spent at VIP. Just looking at Van Wilder and DH's face from that night gives you and idea of how fun that night was. We're thinking about an Asia trip in the summer of 2009. I just figure I'd throw that out there to see if anyone else was down. We should also try a Texas trip some time next year cuz I know Su would show us a good time.

A Very Colby Christmas

A few years ago Mojo and his pals made a Christmas video for all their friends. It looks like they had a lot of fun making it. Hopefully there will be a day where the norcal guys will be available to make something like this. Usually I don't tell you guys what's on my "30 Things" list but I gotta confess that making a silly video like this on it. So if anybody wants to be in my stupid video just drop me a line. We'll try and get something ready for next Christmas.

Uber Dream Job?

If I never had to worry about money I wouldn't mind making movies for a living. There's an anime called Ninja Scroll that I would love to turn into a live action movie. With a film like Casshern that already came out I'm sure a Ninja Scroll adaptation is certainly doable. There's also a video game called Shadow of the Colossus that I think would be a kick ass movie. Imagine that old Tom Hanks film, Castaway. Now instead of talking to a volleyball imagine talking to a horse. And instead of conquering a deserted island imagine trying to kill a giant 300 feet hairy monster. If that doesn't have summer blockbuster written all over it I don't know what does. All I gotta do is wait for a certain someone in Burbank to become a famous writer so he can get the ball rolling on these projects.

Colonel Puff Puff

Fun times at VIP. This is why his name isn't Chapboy. His name is ChapMAN. Once a Cardinal always a Cardinal.

He's The Demon On Wheels

This movie actually looks pretty groovy.

Things To Do While On Strike

The writers strike has been going on for a couple of weeks now meaning that there probably will be no more new episodes of your favorite shows for a very long time. So what is a consumer of television to do when there's no television to consume? Watch old TV, of course! Here are three shows that I recommend.

1. Battlestar Gallactica
2. Lost
3. Curb Your Enthusiasm

Now is a great time to catch up on these shows, and by the time you're all caught up the strike will probably be over. And great thing is that I have all these shows! So if you really do want to watch any of them just drop me a line. Here's a quick clip from the newest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Next time someone messes with me, I'm gonna do this. Dominique Johnson Touchdown - UCLA vs. USC 2007

The other day I told you about a video that I'd watch that'd always give me a smile. Well over the weekend the same guy took a similar video. It's crazy how he's always filming at the right time.

13-9

Today was supposed to be the day that UCLA played themselves into the Rose Bowl. Unfortunately things did not turn out the way I wanted them to. But such is life. Truth is, our football team sucks. You know it. I know it. We all know it. That probably explains why the most fun I had during rival Saturday was a 16-8 shlacking by Team China during Caps. Whatever. I'm gonna let you in on a little secret. Whenever I feel really down, I watch this video to boost my spirits. 13-9. Thanks to this guy for capturing the most incredible moment in my history as a bruin fan. If you bleed blue and gold it'll definitely bring a smile to your face.
