Pan's Labyrinth

The other day I finally got around to seeing Pan's Labyrinth (aka El Laberinto Del Fauno) by Guillermo Del Toro. This film is another one of those foreign gems that I would happily hand over for any of you to watch if it meant you weren't gonna see Fool's Gold or The Other Boleyn Girl or whatever other crap is in the theatres. The movie can be described as a fairytale story aimed more towards adults. It's about a young girl living in a fantasy world that she has created for herself to cope with a tyrant step father and a post-civil war Spain. Top critics at Rottentomatoes give this movie 100% and it's currently #54 on imdb's top 250 movies of ALL TIME. It won a couple of Academy Awards in 2007 including best cinematography, and was nominated for many more.

Here's one of the monsters from the film. I thought he was pretty funny looking.

Who's got two thumbs over his face, two eyes on his palms, and knows what he's gonna be for halloween this year? This guy. Now I just gotta figure out how to dance with two hands in front of my eyes and drink with my elbows.

I just finished watching Pan's Labyrinth based on your recommendation. I agree. It is a good movie. Some of the creatures are scary. Like that guy with the eyes on his hands that you posted. i hate him. he scared me the most.
