Man v. Food

My new favorite show is Man v. Food on the Travel Channel. In the show, host Adam Richman travels the country and learns about the flavor and culture of each region. Every show ends with Adam participating in different food challenges that the various restaurants have to offer. In Atlanta he and a partner went to The Vortex and attempted the Carnivore Pizza Challenge (11 lbs of meat, cheese, and heart attacks). Winner... food. In New York he went to Brick Lane Curry House to try and eat a bowl of the country's spiciest curry (Phaal). Winner... man. In Boston he went to Eagles Deli for the Ultimate Burger Challenge (5 lbs of beef, 20 slices of cheese, 2 lbs of bacon, 5 lbs of fries). Winner... food.

After watching the Atlanta episode I now have a huge craving for soul food. It's a shame that there's no place in San Jose for a decent plate of chicken and waffles.

You may want to rethink your definition of soul food.

Glad to hear you enjoy the show! I work with the Travel Channel's online community team and given your interest in the show, wanted to let you know that Man V. Food will be featuring the Big Easy in this week's episode, which airs tonight - Wednesday, January 28th, at 10pm ET. Among other New Orleans favorites, Adam attempts the 15-dozen oyster challenge at Acme Oyster House. 150 people have tried this challenge, but only 28 have succeeded. I can send you more info if you’d like. Hope you can catch the show tonight!

I just finished watching the New Orleans episode. That 15 dozen oyster challenege looked so good! Oysters and pohboy sammiches are all I'm gonna be thinking about this weekend.
